"I recently gave my J14 to our oldest which gave me a good reason to pick up another Carhartt Jacket without a hood. I've long been a fan of classic Bomber Jackets and own two in leather so I figured I'd get a J165. The J165...like my other Carhartt jackets...is just what I would expect from Carhartt. Rugged, warm, good quality coupled with a classic look. A plus for me is the J165 has insulated pockets which is nice at the times I forget to grab my gloves as I'm headed out the door. Insulated pockets would be a nice feature to extend to other jackets in the Carhartt line. The J165 is the first Carhartt Jacket I've owned that has that feature and I like it. I selected Moss but the only observation I have about the J165 which would be even mildly critical is I would like to see it offered in more than two colors. If you're looking for a Carhartt jacket that blends a classic look with rugged dependability a J165 would be a good choice." Share this Review:

"This jacket has proved great for all levels of cold weather without looking like you have a moose wrapped around you. It is bulky yes, but the ribbed bottom cinches it in nicely as well as ensuring that wind doesn't seep through. The bulk does not restrict movement too much, thanks to the way it's built. I can still hike the sleeves up to my elbows when I need to. The only downside is that it doesn't come in a pure black, but in a dark grey which makes it look a lot more worn from the start. I was also confused when I found that mine had one front flap pocket that was smaller than the other, the positioning of them is misleading in that sense." Share this Review:

"I purchased this jacket when I moved to northern Michigan, I also purchased a snap on hood and it had been the best investment in an all purpose jacket for the northern Michigan fall thru spring weather.
