"Eleven years ago my husband received this thermal lined hooded zip sweatshirt as a christmas gift from his boss. I am astounded at how "tough" this sweatshirt is ! Back then my husband was in excavation and wore this sweatshirt underneath his Carhartt bibs and jacket and not only did it keep in the cold bitter temperatures here, but it has worn like iron ! Though he is no longer in excavating my husband uses this sweatshirt daily, he even wore it while he built our barn in the middle of winter and it still has held up. There are no rips or tears at all, the zipper still works like it were new and it washes and wears again and again. We like this item so much that we bought all three of our grown boys, our son-in-law and even our four year old grandson one and they use them as winter jackets ! I can not imagine ever purchasing a hooded sweatshirt that does not carry the Carhartt logo ever again !! Thank you Carhartt !!" Share this Review:

"This is the kind of sweat shirt guys need to have. I bought it late 2010 as a replacement for a competitors similar product. That product, while advertised as a heavy duty work hooded sweat shirt, was not that sturdy. The fit was little odd and I mostly wore it as a casual style jacket. Kept it for a number of years. Needing a real sturdy swear shirt, I gave the old one to Goodwill and bought the Carhartt version. When you open the package, the Carhartt feels heavy and substantial. However, when you put it on it balances nicely and is very comfortable. First thing I did with it was my yearly four hour cleaning up of the garage for autumn and the two hour job of laying in fire wood for the winter. The hoodie was warm and comfortable to wear during the work. As it was very dirty from the day’s work, I washed it up that night and it looked as good a new. I just got back from driving from Illinois to northern New York and I wore it the entire trip. Kept me warm when making pit stops and was comfortable in the car. Great item. "I bought this sweatshirt recently for wear while working on a dock at night. This thermal lined version is terrific for those cool nights or days when a coat isn't quite necessary but yet another layer is. What I especially like besides being warmer than a "standard" sweatshirt is that it's cut to allow movement and doesn't feel like you're wearing a straight jacket. The length is perfect! The zipper isn't one of those "kiddie" type where you find yourself fumbling for it. The pockets are deep too. The extra lining provides additional warmth and is definitely noticeable. "I purchased a 5xl jacket and it fits great but I wish it was a little longer. Last weekend tested it in the rain had t dig a trench at work and it did great its not waterproof but it didn't get saturated. This jacket is windproof and that's a great thing when working next to a lake where the wind always blow. This is a warm jacket and being a construction worker that's all that count." "about 5 years ago I was working at a body shop and the owners gave everybody one of these jackets for christmas. One day while working on a automobile a battery that had been charging blow up near my face. There was battery acid all over my body and on my face. After leaving urgent care and getting home that night I thought for sure that my new jacket was trashed. Not being to sure on what to do with it I throw it in the wash and hoped for the best. I was astounded when it was dry. It looked as though nothing had happened at alll. I could not believe my good fortune. Ever since,I have made Carhartt my perferred brand of clothing. "This was my first Carhartt purchase, and I am really impressed. I needed something durable that could handle cold Massachusetts winters and still look good and feel comfortable, and this works perfectly. This sweatshirt is incredibly warm and the pockets are as soft as a lambs cheek. What surprised me the most was the fit. I'm 6'4" and it's hard to find clothes long enough, but the large tall was a perfect fit.
