"Eleven years ago my husband received this thermal lined hooded zip sweatshirt as a christmas gift from his boss. I am astounded at how "tough" this sweatshirt is ! Back then my husband was in excavation and wore this sweatshirt underneath his Carhartt bibs and jacket and not only did it keep in the cold bitter temperatures here, but it has worn like iron ! Though he is no longer in excavating my husband uses this sweatshirt daily, he even wore it while he built our barn in the middle of winter and it still has held up. There are no rips or tears at all, the zipper still works like it were new and it washes and wears again and again. We like this item so much that we bought all three of our grown boys, our son-in-law and even our four year old grandson one and they use them as winter jackets ! I can not imagine ever purchasing a hooded sweatshirt that does not carry the Carhartt logo ever again !! Thank you Carhartt !!" Share this Review:

"I just purchased my 2nd heavy duty hooded zip front Carhartt sweetshirt. While this one seems like a good product, the first one I purchased several years ago was one of better quality--My old Carhartt seemed to be made of heavier material. The inside of the hood was not thermally lined and was softer to the touch and did not irrate the ears as this new does. Also the end of the pull strings for the hood had plastic stops to keep the strings in place ---this new one has only knots (poor design). The new sweetshirt does have a zippered inside pocket which is good---but wish you would go back to the old design." Share this Review:

"I purchased this to layer under a jacket and a waterproof layer in the dead of winter. Now I don't live in alaska but I routinely see single-digit days, and I have to say if it's not snowing, all I need is my base layer, work clothes, this sweatshirt, a hat and gloves and I'm warm all day to the point of having to un- zip the sweatshirt and cool off. In reference to its durability, I can say that I've crawled around on blacktop, cement, and gravel without so much as a broken thread. Four years later and no pulls in any of the fabric. Fantastic!" "I work in telecom installation, maintenance, and repair. This job requires travel to, and from many different environments. I always keep a parka type coat with me, but rarely use it. I wear these on a daily basis during the cold months. I can be in a boiler room at one point, then in a snow bank at 10 degrees the next moment, so layering is critical. I own two of these, in black, and gray. I've owned one for about 2 years now, and it's held up rather well. I do have a lot of discoloration, but I drive hundreds of miles a week, and also spend a good amount of it outside. I would highly recommend these sweatshirts. They keep me warm, and are part of my daily work wardrobe. My only gripe is that these are not Made in the USA. I will probably go for a USA Made duck coat next time, though." Share this Review:

One day i came back to my coat hook and my coat was on the ground, the loop on the coat broke clean off. It was a little disappointing for "working mans" clothes. Overall it was a decent purchase."
