"Really a great product. The only cons I had were: 1. The hood on this coat was larger that the other hood I have on other Carhartt coats making it hard to use pull ties to tighten it up and 2. "Just ordered my third jacket of this type. Wouldn't buy any other jacket. I work in construction and need a jacket that keeps me warm and dry, and this jacket does the trick. Only onto my third jacket because the front pockets have holes in them, and the cuffs are frayed as well, but other wise still wearable. The hood keeps the wind off my neck and the deep front pockets are great for either warming hands or for carrying small items. The inner pockets are great for your cell phone as well. As with most new things it does require a breaking in period, and the hood gets in the way when new. But that soon goes away and the hood lies flat. I also have a pair of bibs that I wear with it, the whole ensemble keeps me warm and dry all winter long. I would definitely recommend this jacket to anyone who spends a lot of time outdoors. Not only that but it was cheaper here on the site then it would be at a store, even with the shipping fees. Just a helpful review for the true north strong and free." Share this Review:

"I am not a "workin' man." No, I do not bring down 50 foot trees, weld, or tend to a farmful of critters on a daily basis. Once I put on this jacket, however, that all changes. I can smell the crisp mountain air, hear the roar of equipment, and feel the Earth tremble below my feet from jackhammers; Muscles bulge, and my facial hair extends to lumberjack levels. Yes, this jacket is your brown ticket into the hard working American society. I think it was Napoleon that said of his first Carhartt (which is still around after a few hundred years), "Take care of this jacket and it shall take care of you." Like Napoleon, I am not a very big person at 5'6" and around 145lbs. A size small provides the fit I like. I will note that I tried on a medium and the elastic around the wasit did not hug tightly to my body, so I naturally had to go down a size. It is not too baggy, but has just enough room inside to wear some layers without feeling restricted. This is my first Carhartt jacket, and I look forward to the hundreds of years of comfort and durability it will offer." Share this Review:

Perfect Jacket for Outside Winter Work

"I am an mechanic, and I often do road side service in the winter. I wear this jacket over my insulated bib overalls. I also wear it when riding my quad. This is my second one, only because my first one became too big after I lost a lot of weight. My current one is about 2 years old now. The one previous to that was probably close to 6 years old, but didn't look like it. When you first buy the jacket, it's very stiff. But, if you wash it once, maybe twice, and actually wear it, it breaks in perfectly, and is well worth the break in period. It's fully insulated, but the sleeves are nylon inside, which I actually prefer (Doesn't stick to my shirt sleeves). It's extremely warm, under all winter conditions. I've worn it in below 0 weather with just a t-shirt underneath, and I'm never cold. The pockets on the front are great. Perfect position for warming cold hands, and I've never had anything fall out of them, even though they don't zipper or button close. The inner pockets are great for anything that needs to stay dry and secure. Water resistance is second to none for not being water proof. Light rain beads off, light snow beads of. Heavy rain and snow will soak through the duck material, but it's never made the jacket less warm. What's surprising is after a rough night of heavy snow fall, when I came home and took off the jacket, I didn't even realize just how wet the outside was. It never reached my t-shirt under it, and I never even knew. My jacket did have one hole apear, which I promptly repaired with a heavy duty canvas. I don't know how it tore and I don't know when. The hole was about the size of the tip of my pinky, but after repairing with the canvas, I've never had another hole. I've actually never seen any of my buddies Carhartt jackets tear either. None of them could believe mine even had a hole! Would also like to add, My German Shepard and I have played tug of war with the arm of my jacket while I'm wearing it, and it doesn't even look like a big boy like him ever chewed on it. I'm a firm believer in Carhartt and I'll never buy any other jacket. There's just nothing out there that even compares. Spend the money once and never spend it again." 1 of 1 found this review helpful.

Very Low Quality Product

"I was given this jacket brand new from my employer for work in the Alaskan winters. It was purchased in size large but it is definitely not a large it is closer to an XXL or bigger. The outer shell is very stiff and coarse. The lining is extremely rough against the skin and it doesn't seem to have any insulation. It is very uncomfortable to have on.
