"This jacket is very well made and I love the deep wine color. Please make more of your jackets available in this color! However. it is a very heavy coat. I will use it for camping and other outdoor activities. I prefer the weight of the thermal lined for daily use because it is not as bulky. I just wish the thermal lined came in deep wine. "This jacket arrived just in time for our record cold wave. The quilting is WARM! Mine is a very pleasant moss color. The knitted cuffs and waist seal out the wind nicely and the integral hood is handy, especially if you forget to bring a hat like I always do. The canvas duck outer shell is rugged and built for work, but I think it looks casual enough to wear anywhere whether you work outdoors for a living or not. I added push button cord locks to the hood drawstrings. The quality is unmatched. It is gratifying to see this level of workmanship and high quality materials being used to make work and casual clothing in a time when poor quality often hides behind designer status to boost profits. "I have had this jacket for about 3 years. I live in Virginia, where the winters are not super harsh, but do get cold. I have had the jacket in weather as cold as 20 degrees, and feel it could hold up to much colder temperatures. I am a big guy, and Im happy I found a brand with such a wide selection of Big/Tall clothes. The main reasons I like this jacket are that it lasts, and its still as warm as when I bought it. They stain easily but hey, that's what theyre made for and it's bound to happen if you're the type looking to buy one in the first place. I'm just a laundry freak and wish I could have my cake and eat it too. ;-) I am a 29 yr old female, homemaker and mother of five. I have had a few of these, known many to own thier own and see those I don't know wearing thiers too. For the purpose it serves, you can't get too much better in comfort unless you start lacking in it's durability so I have to give it a thumbs up still for that. I'd have to say if you spend any amount of time outside doing any kind of activity, you NEED to have one of these. The sandstone is much more "giving" and to me, seems not to lack any from the regular but I'd have to own both to swear to it. Best Jacket for Dirty Work Ever!!!

"I work for the Nevada Conservation Corps and wear Carhartt double knee work pants/overalls and my flannel lined jacket everyday. I wear this jacket 24-7, 5days a week, in weather and environments of all kinds; from high elevation desert in Nevada to Death Valley in California. I building hiking trails with nothing but picks, mcleod's, and pulaski's, build habitat for endangered species using nothing but my Carhartts and hands, decommission roads with hackhammers, etc and Carhartt keeps me not only comfortable, but safe. I wear this jacket in the cold, the wind, the rain, and it always keeps me toasty and dry; its amazing! When you are working in the wilderness comfort and warmth are key to staying alive and healthy and I wouldn't be able to do it without my Carhartt gear. I wore 1pair of double lined work pants every single day for a year, without showers or laundry machines, and they are still good as new despite the stains from all my hard work (no rips, tears, holes, broken belt loops, etc). I will never trust any other gear for work besides Carhartt. Thanks Carhartt!!!" Share this Review:
