Hard to find good fit like these

"I have searched long and hard, for some years to find pants which fit me and have found very few options on the market. Since I was very young I have done a lot of bicycle riding and my lower body is very muscular (it also runs in my family), but my waist is only 36". Because of this, I cannot wear regular jeans as they simply will not fit over my thighs unless I get a size that's several waist sizes too big. Carhartt, for many years has made some of the only pants I can wear which are rugged enough for work and look good enough to wear in business offices of my IT customers. These are the best I have found for the overall combination of comfortable fit, appearance, durability, longevity and acceptable price. Dear Carhartt, Please do not make the legs any smaller on your pants, these or others, as then I and others with the same or similar issue I have would have to find other options. For the man with the "leg opening too big around the boot" issue... maybe the installation of a set of snaps or some velcro would be helpful. For that matter, when I ride my bicycle, I use a safety pin or velcro strap to close the bottoms of the legs so they don't catch on the crank, sprocket or other stuff, but that's just at the hem on the bottom. These, in 36x32 are just a little roomy around my waist, and just barely big enough to leave a little room around my thighs (not much), but they work very well. I don't buy Carhartt for the name or prestige, I buy them because they are what works for me and they are very practical. Thank you again." Share this Review:

Best pants I can find

"I have owned several pairs of these pants over the years and I keep coming back to them. They are the only work pants I can find that look good and fit my built lower body. It's nearly impossible these days to find pants that fit my thighs but arent too big on the waist. Thank you Carhartt for the 19" leg opening and please don't discontinue using it as then you'll join the ranks of being just like every other ignorant pant brand out there. The only complaint I have is that the blue version of this pant will distress with faded blue and white marks and look really nasty after several months of washing. The color fades quickly but they still work good, just don't look good." Share this Review:

great pants, except leg openings

"I hate to give these pants a so-so review, especially on subjective things. These pants are great except for one thing I hate, and that is the 19" leg openings. For me, and the types of boots I wear, having these huge leg openings means that there is no bunching of the pants whatsoever at the bottom of the leg. You pretty much have to have them hemmed at dress pant lengths to make sure you aren't stepping on the back of your pants all day, so they ride high when you bend over or sit down. Most guys I know who wear boots regularly prefer to have at least a little fabric-gathering at the bottom, and these pants make that impossible, unless you are wearing some huge boots. "I work in a warehouse where I am walking, bending, stooping, up on a ladder, climbing up on a forklift all day long. These are very comfortable! One problem I have with jeans is that the inside of the thighs wear-out and rip. These are not showing any signs of wear & tear. "I've worn the Carhartt work dungaree for the last four to five years and have been very satisfied. They fit great, feel good on, look good on, and have plenty of pockets for storage. I prefer them to cargo pants as the pockets are much easier to access and they look better. I've done my share of work in them (aircraft cargo loading) and they have held up well. "Awesome pants for summer. Light weight so you stay cool. Fit great with tool belt on or off. Pockets are tough enough to carry small hand when needed for the short in and out job. "I Bought a pair of the 151's along with some 240's to accompany me to Afghanistan. Although I like the 240's, they are not as comfortable as the 151's. The 151's have been great to withstand the terrain and abuse they have been put through, but most of all have kept me cooler than any other pants. I am ordering more of them for sure!" "I have had my work dungarees for a while now and they have not ceased to disappoint. They have been through heavy yard-work, camping, trudging through thick meadows, mud, and fire & smoke. Most impressively though, is their durability with my dirt bike. I have worn them through many a riding sessions and they have not yet ceased to amaze. Even today, when I wiped out on a gravel road doing doing about 20 mph and slid across the road, they protected my legs from any scratches or scrapes AND they still look brand new.
