"Have had 3 pairs of these pants for the past 3 years and I wear them almost daily. They are coming down to the end of their useful lives but I'm still using them. Sure they've got some holes and wear to them but nothing the sewing machine can't fix. I have been absolutely impressed by these pants, never had anything that lasted this long. They are definitely worth the extra bucks but if you look you can find them for a deal sometimes. Also the most comfortable pants I've ever worn. The only problem I've ever had with them is that they seem to wear holes on the corners of the rear pockets pretty quick. I've had that same problem with other Carhartt pants too." Share this Review:

"These are the pants that can do anything, and have a classic good look at the same time. I am a wildlife biologist and have worked in some thorny brush in my time. While everyone else has devil's club stickers in their legs, my double-knee duck Carhartt pants prevented the stickers from getting through. I even bruise less with these pants, too, when I am working out in the woods. I keep my old pair for working on my truck and the new pair for on-the-job. "I find these pants to be excellent quality. They do seem to have gotten a little less durable over the last 5 years, but I imagine cotton is getting less durable itself, being grown over and over on depleted soil. These pants last me 1 full year of farming, gardening, landscaping, and casual wearage. I particularly like the faded look after a few months, and only wish they lasted longer in that state. "I would recommend these to a friend who does not get down and dirty every day. I found that yes they do get softer with washings. So soft in fact that they wear out way faster than the stiffer but more rugged regular black and tan duck dungarees. I found out real fast that the material wears right through where my thighs rub together. Makes for a big embarassing hole on the inside of my thighs. "As a veteran of the Corps and a myriad manual labor jobs, and one who has seen various workwear fade and fall into disrepair, I would very honestly characterize these pants as one of the better investments in my life. Second, maybe, to my wife. I have two pair (of Carhartt pants) and wear them constantly (perhaps to a fault). The double and triple stitching holds up. I have ended up eventually patching the knees and/or the crotch of most of my other trousers (often pants of greater price, and -now- very apparent, lesser value). Not my Carhartts. These pants are reliable. Carhartt definitely earned a loyal customer with these. I don't care if you are chipping concrete, hauling gravel, forking pallets into cans, standing helm watch, or installing landscapes . . . buy a few pairs of these freakin' pants." Share this Review:

"They've been making them like this for years so they must be perfect, right?.. Wrong. The double-front is a waste of material and money as they wear out right above the double-front reinforcement and then, after around 6 months of use, you suddenly find you have a 4" tear over your top of thigh rendering them useless. Why not take the double front up to the waist?! Also the thigh pockets are hopeless at retaining even basics like a 12" rule and a pencil when you sit down in them - every break time you have to pick your stuff up off the floor. The only reason I keep buying them is that easily-available, affordable alternatives are hard to find." Share this Review:

Ive gotten my money's worth out of these and they still have life as long as you repair minor holes, etc. The chapped double knee make these pants all the stronger along with the rivets and 3 thread stitching. Also the side pockets are great to through vice grips or wrenches into when your working. The only thing I didn't like about the pants was the cut, they were too wide for me so I brought them in but in doing so they are my favorite jeans. Great pants for welding and woodshop

"I use these pants in both a welding shop and a woodshop and they have excelled in both environments. First, the material is very durable; I don't feel any of the heat generated by the sparks from my welds. Also, the material is extremely resistant to cuts and tears; in fact, I have yet to see any. The pants also have a ton of storage solutions; there's a tool/hammer loop which comes in very handy in the woodshop, and the right leg has a small pocket that's perfect for a ruler/ square (there's even one for a small cell phone). Overall, I am very satisfied with these pants, and will definitely be ordering at least 2 or 3 more pairs" Share this Review:

"My son works as a welder, and these pants are the ONLY ones he'll wear. They provide an added safety feature with their double front, and the heavy-duty 12-ounce duck stands up to errant sparks and high heat. We've tried the lighter weight ones, and they are excellent for most heavy work. When it comes to working in the cold of winter using a welding torch, the 12-ouncers are the only way to go."
