Excellent Cold Weather Work Coat

"My wife just bought me the "Sandstone Jacket/Coat" for my birthday as I needed a tough but warm coat to protect me while working in the cold. There is no doubt that Carhartt is the leader when it comes to tough, durable workwear. This coat fits well (sizes seem true) and is sufficiently warm. The pocket sizes and layout are convenient and with velcro closures; they stay put to keep things where they belong. The zipper on the coat is no "wimp" and is probably one of the best features. The overall quality of this coat is such that you know that it will last a long time, even under conditions that would probably send most other coats to an early end. I give this coat two thumbs up and heartily endorse it to anyone looking for a good investment in work outerwear." 1 of 1 found this review helpful.

"I have always like Carhartt products. I ordered my brother a coat to match his work pants for Christmas. At first I checked the lg size and then changed my mind after talking to my mother and so changed to a med. What he ended up with was the large one. He said it was fine but I'm not sure if he said that not to hurt my feelings or if it really was fine. Since he lives in CO and I live in TX I'm not sure. "You can see how tough this coat is just by looking at it. I love the lining; very soft. Also, I like the zipper. It seems the zipper is the first thing to go. I've other coats sitting in the closet in good condition that have busted zippers. It is a little big, but I guess that's extra room for layering. The only thing I don't like are the handwarmer pockets. They have a small opening, and are positioned in sort of an odd, almost unnatural angle. I can't wait for it to get really cold. Here in Oklahoma we don't typically get a lot of snow. Just bitter cold and strong wind. I anticipate watching others shiver while I'm baking in this coat." Share this Review:

"Size large long fits like a tent. Wearing a 40 coat I found the shoulders of this coat to fit well. The rest was designed for a penguin. With a 35" waist the bottom portion was far to voluminous with 4-5 inches of overlap of the sides at the bottom. Hand and chest pocket openings at least an inch or two too small for large hands, particularly with gloves. Overall "long" length was a bit long for my 76". Should be classified as a parka.
